Monday to Friday, the Maison Cool photographer eats organic live natural yogurt, with low carb berries eg blueberries, strawberries, blackberries. He also cuts up plums and nectarines – 7g carbs each, according to Sainsbury’s.
Rather than buy carby tropical fruit, we buy him carb-counted mostly organic fruit purees eg Ella’s Kitchen, HiPP organic, Piccolo, Aldi Mamia, etc. Designed for babies, they have no added sugar, salt or additives. One small pouch does two breakfasts.
A change is as good as a rest, so the saying goes. At weekends, he likes a bowl of cereal. With NCGS his options are limited.
Although he wants to eat low carb (under 130g per day), he doesn’t want to give up his weekend cereal or his gluten-free beer.
In THE CEREAL EXPERIMENT he tried American gluten-free Cheerios, which he liked. For THE CEREAL EXPERIMENT II he tried Australian Weet-Bix, which he hated.

Verdict: Tasted like Rice Krispies.
Because we have a policy of not eating GM food, this cereal will be feeding local wild birds. Negative review has been left on Amazon, because we don’t want to pay £7.84 for GM food.
